We're a small but passionate group dedicated to growing the numbers of youth in amateur radio. We want youth members to make their voices heard and to experience the whole of what amateur radio has to offer.
We're fighting to make youth in amateur radio the force it should be, and we hope that initiatives like the Youth Contesting Group will enable us to keep growing!

Hi, I'm Sam. I've been licensed since September 2021, originally as M7UEL, then 2E1UEL in march 2025, and finally M0UEL in July 2025. I also hold OK1UEL and N0UEL callsigns to match. I am the Chair of both the Youth Contesting Group and the University of Gloucestershire ARS (MX0UVG). I am current focussing on learning CW!

Hi! I'm Leon, and I've been licensed as an amateur radio operator since 2022. I'm interested in homemade equipment and HF operating, and have recently found out how fun contesting is! I also run the University of Sheffield Amateur Radio Club.

Hi, I'm Megan. I've been licensed since 2021 and I am mainly active in CW and contesting. I also enjoy travelling so do not be surprised if you hear me on that air with random prefixes or new callsigns (where I can get them :)

I’m Sophie and I was first licensed in February 2025. Since then, my involvement in amateur radio has grown rapidly. I attended YOTA camp in Paris, started an amateur radio club at a local school, and developed a growing interest in contesting. I’m looking forward to spending more time on the air and continuing to develop my operating skills.
Oscar from M3W is the amazing mascot of the Youth Contest Group. Disrespecting Oscar will result in you being banned from the club.
Oscar says "woof". We think this is his equivalent of CQ, but this remains to be confirmed.
